For Kate

My dear friend and birthday-month buddy Kate passed away from Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD) and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), rare brain diseases. She was one of the sweetest and kindest people you would ever meet. She inspired me to be a better person. Often when I am faced with a hard choice, “What Would Kate Do?” guides me. She is missed, as are our Wednesday night noodle chats.
