Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What is a guybrarian? A Guybrarian is just what it sounds like-a guy Librarian.

2.  How did you end up in Asia? A long story short: a took a study abroad trip in College and later, after earning my undergraduate degree and working for a year I came here to learn Chinese.  I stayed for a year, then went home to get a Masters Degree and then came back to work as a Librarian.

3. How did you find your job? I found it on the internet.  I was searching for jobs at international schools (at the suggestion of a family member who is also an international school Librarian) and found it.

4.  Do you have a crush on Marian the Librarian? In a word: yes.  Although my travels have never taken me to River City, Iowa, but they have taken me to Spirit Lake.

5.  Do you  have special powers as a Guybrarian?  Yes.  I am able to help people find answers to questions in a single reference interview, able to read lots of books and have the uncanny ability to drive past the Library in most cities having never been there or actively searching for it (it also helps that most Libraries are located off main roads).
